Today Nissan debuted a new NISMO trim level to their large family hauler, the Nissan Armada.

The Armada NISMO gets a 35-horsepower increase to its 3.5-liter V6 engine that has it now making 460 horsepower. Along with the additional grunt the NISMO gets a louder and less restrictive exhaust. The wizards at NISMO also returned the electric power steering and their Adaptive Electric Air Suspension, making the large body-on-frame SUV a more engaging and direct driving experience.

On the exterior you can probably see the red accented NISMO designed front and rear bumpers, grill, side steps and even a little rear spoiler. The NISMO also gets fender flares and NISMO-specific forged wheels with high-performance tires for greater traction and responsiveness.

Inside the cabin you can see the red theme continues with quilted leather-appointed seats finished in charcoal with red accents. The seats also get adjustable side bolsters to help keep you held in during spirited driving. Aluminum pedals and multicolor ambient lighting finish off the NISMO interior.

Overall this seems like a nice trim level to add to the growing lineup for the Armada. Don’t expect GT-R levels of handling in this huge SUV but if you want to tow 8,500 pounds while hauling 8 people a NISMO Armada seems like a good way to go.

Pricing has not yet been released for the Armada NISMO but the base Armada starts at $57,520 and tops out close to $80,000, so it is a good bet the NISMO version will be closer to the top of the lineup. The 2026 Armada NISMO will hit dealerships this fall if you are looking for a family hauler or a tow rig for the new Nissan Z.
