Today Aston Martin announced the new Vantage S, their most performance focused Vantage.

Since this is the most performance oriented Vantage lets drive right into the power figures. Power comes from an upgraded 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine now making 671 horsepower (680PS) at 6,000 rpm and 590 ft-lbs of torque (800Nm) from 3000 – 6000 rpm. To help with the increase power there is a new calibration for the throttle for added feel and precision.

All that power propels the Vantage S to 60 miles per hour in just 3.3 seconds and to 124 mph in just 10.1 seconds. If you have the space to stay in the throttle the Vantage S will top out at 202 miles per hour.

The Vantage S also receives a upgrades to the suspension, powertrain mounts and control software to aid in handling improvements. The tuning and software calibration changes to the Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers increase the front-end feel and response, while the rear spring stiffness has been reduced to balance compression and rebound for improved low speed ride quality. They also reduced the transmission mount stiffness to bring additional refinement by allowing the movement of the body and chassis to be in sync. They have also directly mounted the rear subframe to the body for increased stiffness and connection.

To tell this new Vantage S from its siblings there are new centrally mounted hood blades that can be finished in gloss black or twill carbon fiber, not only do they vents look nice they also help with air extraction from the ‘hot-v’ V8 engine. Also a new full width decklid spoiler helps identify the Vantage S, this new spoiler increases rear downforce by 44kg at Vmax. This contributes to the total downforce of 111kg at Vmax.

Outside you will also notice bespoke 21″ Y-spoke wheels in satin black with a red wheel graphic. These red details all tie back to the ‘S’ marque and they look very nice contrasting the bronze painted brake calipers. Inside the bespoke details continue with Alcantara and leather interior as standard with twill carbon fiber trim inlays that match the hood vents. Inside the ‘S’ theme continues with logs embroidered into the upper shoulder panel of the seats. Inside you will find almost 2,500 individual stitches some of which were used for the iconic Aston Martin wings embroidered into the headrests.
