I hope you are a billionaire because Koenigsegg just dropped its next Megacar and its not cheap.

Christian von Koenigsegg honored his father, Jesko Koenigsegg, by naming his previous megacar after him. He continued the tradition of honoring his late father with the naming of his new car. Jesko was a gentleman jockey and the Sadair’s Spear is named after his fathers favorite racehorse – the one he rode in his final race in 1976.

Koenigsegg says the Sadair’s Spear is their most track focused vehicle to date. Koenigsegg increase power, reduced weight, upgraded brakes and suspension, and with that huge wing finely tuned the aerodynamics. This allowed the Sadair’s Spear able to shatter the previous lap record at Gotland Ring set by the Jesko Attack by 1.1 seconds.

Power comes from their formidable twin-turbo 5-liter V8 making an impressive 1,300 horsepower on regular unleaded fuel, and up to 1,625 horsepower using E85 fuel. All that power goes to Koenigsegg’s Light Speed Transmission. They were able to achieve these increased numbers over the Jesko with enhanced airflow and cooling.

Inside the cockpit they were able to save 2.6 kilograms by reducing the sound insulation and another 1.3 kg with new carbon fiber techniques. In total they were able to shed 35 kg helping the Sadair’s Spear exceed a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio.

Koenigsegg only plans to make 30 units and if you are reading this now your opportunity is up, as all units instantly sold upon its private unveiling. Koenigsegg did not release a price to the public but TopGear is reporting a cost of £3.8 million, or about $5.1 million in US dollars.
