Lets get right to the big news and that is the 2025 GR Corolla will be available with an 8-speed GAZOO Racing Direct Automatic Transmission (DAT) with paddle shifters. This new option opens the hot hatch up to a much larger audience of buyers. Enthusiast’s don’t need to worry though as the 6 speed manual transmission is still the default option.

Along side the new transmission the GR Team has been able to increase torque of the GR Corolla from 273 lb.-ft. to 295 lb.-ft. – what was previously only found on the 2023 Morizo special edition.

The GR Team didn’t stop there as they also retuned the suspension, made changes to the front bumper to accommodate new available cooling components like an optional sub-radiator and an Automatic Transmission Fluid cooler (only on the DAT).

Sadly, all these improvements come at a price increase of $2,360.00 over the outgoing model year. The 2025 GR Corolla now starts at $39,995 including the dealer processing and handling fees. Now don’t forget add that new 8 speed automatic adds $2,000 on to that so the cheapest you are getting in a base automatic is $41,995.
