Mazda has decided to discontinue the MX-30 in the U.S.
Mazda will discontinue MX-30 EV for the U.S. market following the 2023 model year to focus on their larger PHEVs. Mazda specifically mentions the 2024 CX-90 PHEV and upcoming CX-70 PHEV, as well as introducing CX-50 Hybrid. As you will notice all of these are larger than the MX-30 as well as projected to have a much larger range.
In case your forgot the MX-30 only had a range of an EPA estimated 100 miles, which if you look at the market today is on the low end for EV range. Given that range you would hope the MX-30 would be priced on the lower end but with a starting price of $34,110 that puts it in with some stiff competition that has longer range.
The MX-30 did have a nice interior and traditional Mazda styling but it was just priced and ranged out of the market. Mazda is probably smart to look to push its larger offerings with much more range.
